TOLKIEN READING DAY

CELEBRATED AROUND THE WORLD ON MARCH 25TH

This day was started in 2003 by the Tolkien Society to encourage the readings of J.R.R. Tolkien choosing March 25th as the date to honor the fall of Sauron in Tolkien’s The Lord of the Rings.

J.R.R. Tolkien (Jan. 3, 1892 – Sept. 2, 1973) was an English writer, poet, philologist and university professor.  He was best known as the author of the classic works The Hobbit, The Lord of the Rings and The Silmarrillion along with Roverandom and Farmer Giles of Ham.
