All salami lovers across the country, today is your day. It is National Salami Day which is jubilantly celebrated every year on September 7.
Salami is a cured, fermented and air-dried sausage that is enjoyed by thousands of people every day.
Salami was historically popular among Southern European peasants because it can be stored at room temperatures for up to 30 to 40 days once it has been cut.

National Salami Day, an “unofficial” national holiday was started in Henrico, Virginia in 2006 by the Salami Appreciation Society.
