NATIONAL PRESIDENTIAL JOKE DAY – August 11

001A

NATIONAL PRESIDENTIAL JOKE DAY

This is a day that was created to celebrate the sense of humor in our presidents and for the president of the United States to tell a joke or two.  National Presidential Joke Day,an “unofficial” national holiday,  which is celebrated annually, began on August 11, 1984 when President Ronald Reagan was doing a microphone test and made a joke not realizing that the microphone was on.

It is uncertain if the presidents practice this tradition of joke telling, however people still remember, and talk about,  the 1984 radio incident.
