NATIONAL HANDSHAKE DAY

The last Thursday of each June, people across the nation celebrate National Handshake Day.

The tradition of handshaking goes way back:  “Archaeological ruins and ancient texts show that handshaking was practiced in ancient Greece as far back as the 5th century BC”.

CELEBRATE

Shake the hand of at least one person that you would not have on any other day.  You may just want to wish them a good day while doing so.  Use #NationalHandshakeDay on social media.

HISTORY

National Day Calendar has been unable to find the origins, or the founder or National Handshake Day, an “unofficial National holiday.
